Paying rent 2024

Paying your new rent

Monday, 29 January 2024

How to switch to your new rent for 2024:

1. Check your 2024 rent booklet.

It breaks down your new rent and any charges.

This will hit your doormat by the end of February.

2. Check your income.

There might be changes to the money you’re getting in from April, such as:

These will go up by 6.7%.

The National Minimum wage is going up by 9.8% to £11.44 per hour.

State pensions will go up by 8.5%.

3. Check how you normally pay and how to update it:

On 1 April (not before):

  • Log into your Universal Credit journal.
  • Fill in the ‘To-do’ section with your new charges.

If you don’t, you might not get paid the right amount after April or your benefits could stop completely.

There’s no way for us to do this for you, but we’ll text to remind you.

Most customers pay by direct debit. It cuts the hassle – there’s one less thing to remember every month. But there are other options.
