DIY noise

DIY noise

From time to time, you may decide to spruce up your home with some DIY. We know that not all home renovations are as smooth as 60-minute makeover, so if you are considering carrying out DIY that may cause persistent noise, give your neighbours a heads up, they will most probably appreciate it.

Talk to your neighbour

Try having a friendly chat with your neighbour or leave them a note through their door. They may not be aware of they are disturbing you and may be able to prevent it from happening again.

Use a mediation service

If you cannot resolve the dispute by speaking to your neighbour, get help from a mediation service.  If you need help with this, we can support you, get in contact with us for more information.

Contact Environmental Health

If the noise is persistent and is causing you extreme disturbance, you can contact your local Environmental Health Officer.

Report it

If you have followed the previous steps and the noise is still persistent, you can report it to us via the myB3Living app.

We recommend you keep a log of repeated, excessive noise nuisance. Please do this for 2 weeks before submitting a report to the Neighbourhood Team, as we need enough evidence to demonstrate a pattern.
