The Waldens is one of our newest developments with Chase New Homes and Uttlesford District Council. Once completed, it’ll welcome over 100 new residents in the housing register with 30 homes in Saffron Walden. The homes will be a mix of affordable rent, with 21 flats and houses, and 9 shared ownership homes with options for individuals and families from 1-bed flats to 4-bed houses.
In 2025, Saffron Walden was voted the best place to live in the UK by the Times so this development provides a great location for new residents. The town is encircled by open countryside and offers easy access to Audley End station and the M11 as well as shops, restaurants, and activities in nature.
The wider development is formed of 96 new homes which replace the former Friends' School dating back to the 19th century. It will aim to maintain the site's historic legacy retaining some of the design features while helping to meet the demand for new homes in the area.
With this project, our aim is to continue extending our reach so more and more people can access a home they can afford in their community.
