Going low. Switching to low-energy lighting

We've made the switch to low energy lighting.

Our office on Hoddesdon High Street is an old building, and we still had old-fashioned fluorescent lighting.

We’ve switched all the bulbs to LEDs. This has cut our energy use from lights in half.

It’s also saves us a minimum of £7,000 per year – which we can now spend on other works for our customers.

 

Did you know?

15% of your electricity bill could come from your lights.

Next time a light bulb goes, you can save at least £2-3 on your bills a year if you replace it with an LED bulb instead. It could be more depending on the bulb you had before.

Tip: if you want it to still ‘feel’ like a traditional light, buy a “warm” colour bulb. It’s less sharp.
