What are adaptations?

Adaptations are things we can do to make your home more accessible and comfortable for you.

E.g.

  • Handrails (hallway, stairs)
  • Ramps
  • Level access shower
  • Stairlifts
  • Grab rails (bathroom, toilet)
  • Raised toilet seat

How do I apply?

Step 1: Arrange an appointment with an Occupational Therapist (OT) through Hertfordshire Adult Services. Their number is 0300 123 4042 or visit their website here.

Step 2: The OT will look around your home and create a report for any adaptations you need.

Step 3: Once we receive the report, we'll arrange for the works to be carried out.

Note - For larger adaptations (e.g. level access shower), we might use the Home Improvement Agency to do this.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you've got a referral from an Occupational Therapist, you won't need to pay anything.

Our Property Co-ordinator, Sam Stone, receives the referrals from Occupational Therapists. Sam can be contacted on 01992 453 738 or samantha.stone@b3living.org.uk

This depends on whether we've received an OT report for you and the size of the adaptation.

Give us a call on 01992 453700 (option 2) if you're unsure.
