We’re now halfway through the grass cutting season, and we wanted to take a moment to check in with you. We know last year’s service didn’t meet expectations, and we really appreciate your patience as we’ve worked to improve things this year.
At the start of the season, we shared the steps we’re taking with our new contractor, BEST, to deliver a more consistent and reliable service. Now’s a good time to check in and make sure things are working well for everyone.
What you can expect this season
Here’s a quick reminder of what we’re aiming for this year:
- Cuts every three weeks
- Grass no taller than 75mm (around the height of a spice jar or bottle of nail varnish)
- Paths and doorways blown clear of any clippings or debris
We’ve moved to a standard cut this season. That means we’re no longer collecting grass clippings after mowing.

How's it going so far?
If you’ve noticed improvements - or if there’s something not quite right - we’d love to hear from you. Your feedback helps us keep improving.
Why we're not collecting grass clippings this year
We know many of you value the neat look that comes with having clippings picked up. However, collecting grass takes a lot more time, requires different equipment, and most contractors aren’t equipped to do it as part of a regular round. It also means fewer areas can be covered in a day and would increase the overall cost of the service.
By cutting more frequently (around every three weeks), we’re keeping the grass shorter so that any clippings left behind are more manageable and don’t build up as much between visits. Contractors are also expected to blow any clippings off paths, doorways, and driveways to help keep things looking tidy and safe.

Keeping grass areas clear after use
Please remember to keep communal grass areas clear after use and before your scheduled cut. Things like toys, furniture, or dog waste can prevent the contractor from cutting safely.
If the area isn’t clear when they arrive:
- They won’t be able to cut that day.
- They will return once to try again.
- If it’s still not clear on their second visit, the area won’t be cut until the next round (in about 3 weeks).
Please keep the areas clear to make sure the grass it cut on time and everyone can enjoy the communal space.
