It’s always good to see a friendly face and B3Living thrives on being there for its residents. Thanks to Lee Goulding and his colleagues in the IT department, you will find front line staff out and about in the community because of the remote working solutions available to them.
Senior Infrastructure Analyst Lee is dedicated to helping the organisation run as smoothly as possible whether at the desk or out and about with a tablet or smartphone.
Lee explains: “We support a lot of elderly residents in retirement properties so it’s good for them to be able to have a face they recognise and trust, rather than just someone on the end of a phone. I joined B3Living 12 years ago and I have seen the benefits of being able to mobilise staff, so they can support residents while staying in the loop at work. It’s a massive change and really benefits staff and residents.
“Back at the office I am on hand to tackle front line issues that might affect the website, emails and any other tech troubleshooting that presents itself. It can get really busy but we all work together and get through it.
“We have a five-a-side footy match on a Friday with players from all sections of the company, where we can get to know other people and let off steam. I’m a lifelong Leyton Orient supporter so Saturdays are reserved for trips to home games with my dad, I’m hoping to bring my two-year-old daughter along soon to keep the tradition going.”
Family man Lee started his career journey in 2007 and hasn’t looked back since. He says: “I joined on a one-year contract and worked across HR and Admin. I was lucky and they both offered me a full-time role at the end of it. I had really developed an interest in IT and so chose that as my path. I was totally overwhelmed when I was offered the opportunity to study a foundation degree in IT and Business at the company’s expense. I worked four days and spent one day at college. It was a lot of hard work and homework but with the support of my mentor and colleagues I did it!
