Our Mark Davies Court scheme is now ready to welcome new residents.

Hoddesdon's former squash club has been transformed into 24 new homes for local people.

The scheme, named memory of Mark Davies, a former B3Living Board member who championed affordable housing, is a tribute to his legacy and a meaningful step toward meeting Broxbourne’s housing needs.

The 100% affordable development is formed of high quality one- and two-bedroom apartments was partly funded by a £620,000 grant from Broxbourne Council and, £1,140,000 from Homes England.

The Office for National Statistics revealed that private rents in Broxbourne rose to an average of £1,635 in September 2025, an annual increase of 12.4% from £1,454 in September 2024. In Hoddesdon Town alone, there are 286 applicants on the housing register for a one-bedroom property, and 198 for a two-bedroom.

The 24 homes will be offered at an affordable rent and will be allocated by the council according to priority in the housing register. The scheme is set to welcome almost 70 new residents and will help to address the increasing demand for affordable housing in the borough.

B3Living’s Executive Director (Development), Jon Hayden said:

“We’re delighted to have handed over these 24 new homes in the heart of Hoddesdon working in partnership with Broxbourne Council.

“Broxbourne Council’s investment and support have helped us build high quality homes that truly meet local needs.

“This scheme will contribute to reducing the number of local people living in temporary accommodation, and it will provide a long-term home for many in the heart of Hoddesdon”.

“The Council has invested significantly in this scheme, and we’re delighted to see it ready for 24 new families to move in imminently.

“Affordable homes are essential for maintaining a balanced and thriving local economy. These new properties will support key workers, families, and those starting out in life”.
