Start a resident's association

What is a resident's association?

Imagine meeting regularly with your neighbours to talk about life in your block or neighbourhood. You could raise concerns, share ideas, and work together to improve your community. Whether it's tackling antisocial behaviour, suggesting new activities, or making shared spaces better, everyone would have a voice.

These meetings would help build stronger connections between neighbours. They’d also give you a chance to shape the place you live in.

B3Living would listen to what’s said and take your feedback seriously. We’d get a clearer picture of what matters to you and look at how we can help. That might mean taking action ourselves or working with others to find solutions.

What things do you look at?

  • Maintenance of communal areas (gardens and hallways).
  • Upkeep of shared facilities (lifts, bins and parking).
  • Improving lighting, CCTV, or access control.
  • Raising anti-social behaviour concerns.
  • Organising fun actives or events.

Setting up your resident's association

Start by having a quick chat with your neighbours! Whether it’s in the hallway, at the bins, or during a sunny moment in the garden—ask if they’d be interested in getting together to discuss issues in your area.

Now it's time to set up your first resident's association meeting. It's a great chance sit down face-to-face, discuss concerns, and see if you can agree on solutions.

It's good to try and get lots of people involved for a wide range of opinions.

Went well? That's great! From here you can either:

  • Keep it going as an unofficial group - Not everything needs to be formal. E.g. A tool and garden equipment sharing network can be easily set up using a WhatsApp
