Affordable housing
Since 2006, we've provided affordable homes to thousands of people across the borough. In 2021, we hit 5000 homes - but we're not slowing down. Our new strategy target is to have an additional 400 homes started on site by 2027.
By offering rents significantly below market rates, we help individuals and families who might otherwise be priced out of the private sector. This reduces financial stress and also supports long-term stability and wellbeing.
Environmental impact
By using software like GIS, we can visualise flood risk data and prepare for emergencies to reduce damage. Upgrading our data management has also made an impact on our environmental footprint.
To achieve our ambition of being carbon neutral by 2050, we've partnered with Settle and Watford Community Housing to form Greener Herts. With over 20,000 combined, we can achieve a positive, significant impact.
Financial impact
We work with local partners to support our customers during difficult times. Whether it's helping someone manage rising living costs or access benefits, we make sure customers get the right advice when they need it most.
We also keep rents affordable, while facing inflation costs. In 2024/25, we helped saved £8.4 million in rent compared to the private market.
Equity, diversity and inclusion
We believe everyone should feel welcome, respected, and treated fairly—no matter who they are. That’s why we’re working hard to make B3Living a more inclusive place for both our customers and staff. We’ve launched a new EDI Strategy for 2025–2028, which focuses on understanding people’s needs, celebrating differences, and removing barriers.
We aim to reflect the diversity of our local communities across all areas of our work. We're also part of the Disability Confident programme to support people with disabilities (both visible and hidden) in the workplace.
