Louise, a B3Living customer, recently experienced a severe case of damp and mould in her home.
After an inspection visit, our damp and mould surveyor, John, determined that her home would need urgent treatment. To keep Louise and her family safe, the best option was for them to stay at a local hotel arranged by B3Living during this time.
Leaving your home can be challenging even if it's for a short period of time, but Louise approached the situation with optimism calling it her "two-week holiday”.
While the Dwelling Doctors worked on getting rid of mould and condensation, they found that around half of the family's belongings had become affected by the mould and would be too unsafe to keep.
John knew this would be quite a difficult situation for Louise and that it could be potentially distressful for one of her children who has autism and ADHD. To help, he worked closely with them to identify what could be thrown away and keep their most valued items safe.

Over the two weeks, John arranged for Maxine from the TV series Clean It Fix It to help transform Louise's home. Though a short time, he was able to organise a complete kitchen makeover with a new washing machine, a cooker and a fridge, as well as half a new bathroom.
Other B3Living colleagues and Social Services also helped to provide new pillows, duvets, bed sheets and other essentials for Louise’s children.

"All the B3Living staff have been amazing but John has gone above and beyond. I'd love to show him around my home once I'm done decorating it!”
