Grass cutting consultation

Which price do you want to pay for grass cutting?

Tuesday, 03 January 2023

You have a chance to vote and influence the service charges you pay.

With grass cutting services, you have two options:

A rough cut

A rough cut

Where the grass is cut, but then left on the ground (costing 64p per m2).

A box cut

A box cut

Where the grass clippings are picked up and taken away. This takes longer, so it costs more (96p per m2).

We know every penny counts at the moment. So, if you pay a grass cutting service charge with us, we’d like to know what matters to you.

Is it important that your estate looks more tidy? Or are you not as bothered and would rather save the money?

Note: We have a new contractor starting in April with lower prices, in general. See below.

You and your neighbours now have the chance to vote.

Voting closes on Mon 16 January 2023.

Why are we asking now?

We’re trying to listen more.

We looked complaints and surveys from the last summer, and our grass cutting service wasn’t getting good feedback. So, we decided to make changes.

In September, we went out to get a new supplier, shortlisted two options and asked you to help us decide.

Thank you to everyone who gave up their time, came to the presentations and cast a vote.

The new contractor is CGM East Anglia. They’ll start in April 2023.

Old charges

  • Box cut = £1.82 per m2
  • Rough cut = 91p per m2

New charges

  • Box cut = 96p per m2
  • Rough cut = 64p per m2

It was important to get costs down and give you value for money. Now we want you to have a say in the level of service you get.

We will be able to look at a different level of service for different locations, depending on the vote.

The service you get will be based on how the majority of people in your area vote. So, if this matters you to, please take 3 minutes to vote.
